I'm often asked, "What is the difference between a limited edition print and an open edition art print?"
Limited Edition Prints, are just that, limited. Each piece has one set of prints, and they range from 10 prints to 100 in my series. Limited Edition Prints are signed, titled, numbered in the edition and dated. They are on acid free archival Epson Rag Photoraphique 310 gsm paper, Giclee printed with ink to last 99+ years without fading. If you're looking for an investment piece of artwork that increases in value when the edition sells out, a limited edition print is what you're looking for. These prints are sealed in an acid free sleeve and never touched without white cotton gloves, as even the oils in skin can degrade the print over time. This is why Limited Edition Prints not only cost more, but are, in turn, worth more.

On the other hand, open Edition Art Prints are digitally signed. There is no limit on how many of these can be printed and in any size. They're great if you're looking to have a piece of art in your fly tying area or lodge, but aren't looking for a collectors piece of work. Open Edition Prints would be comparable to purchasing a poster of a piece of artwork, just on better paper. They won't increase in value over time but not everyone is interested in collecting art as an investment piece. In that case, an open edition print would work great for you!

If you have any questions on prints or how I mat limited edition prints, how you should if you'd like to purchase one without a mat, feel free to message me.

I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology & always loved to fish. It was only a matter of time before the two collided and I'm so grateful they have. I love to draw and fish and now I get to everyday.
